Hi Khaled,
Mathematica uses "Numerical method of lines" and the number of
independent variables must be restricted to atmost 2.However,Mathematica has
exceptional symbolic computational abilities and it will not be difficult to
rephrase your problem to a form that is solvable. Please provide further
details like the form of f(U) and boundary conditions so that we can proceed

"We have not succeeded in answering all our problems. The answers we have
found only serve to raise a whole set of new questions. In some ways we feel
that we are as confused as ever, but we believe we are confused on a higher
level and about more important things."
