Just discovered that there is both a Format >> Magnification menu
command and a Window >> Magnification menu command (any others lurking
elsewhere?) -- and they seem to be linked (maybe even identical?) -- at
least changing the checked setting in either one of them seems to change
the checked setting in the other also.
