Hello Helen:

Here is another data point on this issue....

I had this same symptom with Mathematica V7 (also on XP). I reported this to
WRI support (and maybe I posted here, but I cannot find that now).
After they suggested rebooting Mathematica and the OS (to no avail) I agreed
to move to V7.0.1. I have not seen this problem since that time.
