ma-notebooks to nb-notebooks conversion

Hello!

a 15 years ago, in 1994, I created some Mathematica 2.2.2 - Notebooks 
(.ma-files).
Unfortunately I cannot open them with Mathematica 5 or the Mathematica 
Player 7. Both programs hang up and Windows XP sends a report.

Can someone help me to convert the .ma-files to .nb-files?
