> 1. Wouldn't it be easy (or relatively easy) to add a captcha or math
captcha to the site to make it harder for the spammers? I'm pretty sure
there are several MediaWiki plugins for this. On the other hand, maybe the
Wiki is on an older version of MediaWiki... Maybe the site already has
something like this, no?

The Mathematica-users wiki is written in Mathematica code, see
http://www.wolfram.com/products/mathematica/usersanduses/barthelet.html .
You can see the whole code here:
http://www.mathematica-users.org/webMathematica/wiki/wiki.jsp?pageName=compl
eteWiki.
As I understand it, captchas catch robots, but these spammers probably are
humans. Some human intervention seems necessary to me. I also think that it
would be a good thing if someone checked the wiki code and suggested
improvements.

of financing more bandwidth? Or, maybe WRI could help host it?)
If you want to discuss the physical servers or software for the Wiki, I
think you should contact Luc Barthelet. I do not want to publish his email
address here, but I can forward letters if you send them to me. Or you might
join the world of Tirnua, you might find him there, or in some popular
social media.

launch date.)
Yes, it is very promising, it promises "Coming soon" all the time. Nice
layout, but I see the content as more valuable than the layout, and it is
not clear to me who should create the content. I think Sal Mangano could
hide all dead captions, and not show them before there is content. When the
site stops just promising and starts delivering, I will insert a link to it
from the Mathematica-users wiki, if no one does that before me.

Welcome to the big Mathematica party - we need someone to wash up the
dishes.
