Starting January 26, 2000, Abstract Algebra I, an introductory
undergraduate abstract algebra course is being offered through the UMass
Lowell CyberEd program and UMass Lowell Department of Mathematical
Sciences. This is a three credit course. Students will use Mathematica
packages to explore some of the concepts of abstract algebra.
"Traditional" problem sets will also be large part of the course.
Topics will focus primarily on group theory, starting with symmetry
groups and ending with some combinatorial group theory.
