Hi,
define the default options with
Options[curveGrid]={name->value, name2->value2}
curveGrid[arg1,opts___?OptionQ]:=
Module[{thisname, thisname2},
{thisname,thisname2}={name,name2} /. {opts} /. Options[curveGrid];
...
]
