I bought the wonderful book "Mathematica Navigator Mathematics,
Statistics and Graphics" Third Edition from Heikki Ruskeep=E4=E4 via
Amazon.fr. It is written entirely in Mathematica with all the .nb
files delivered with the book on cd-rom.

I have Mathematica Home Edition 8.0.0 running on Mandriva Linux 2010.2
x86_64 on an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300. I installed the complete book on
cd-rom in the Documentation Center under Add-ons and Packages.

But from the moment I open the book this way, the processor load goes
for 70% to Mathematica and 60% to X. When I close the book, the
processor load drops to almost zero.

Reading the book using the PC on battery is therefore not possible, at
least not for long time.

Is there any option that should be set to recude the processor load?
