Buggy Editor

Try this:

In[1]:=
(5.0^20 )( b^2)+z

Out[1]=
\!\(9.53674316406250355`*^13\ b\^2 + z\)


We are supposed to have the capability to edit formatted expression
using  Version 3.0.
Now try to make a new input expression by editing Out[1].

Using Mathematica with Windows 95, the only part I could edit and get
the  expected result was the mantissa of the leading term.
