The goal of the introductory course is to attain enough  experience with
Mathematica to ensure an efficient and  self-reliant usage of the
various capabilities of the  system, both the Mathematica Kernel - the
core program - and the new Mathematica FrontEnd. 

This comprehensive course will consist of explanatory  lectures and
hands-on instruction on PC's. 

A detailed overview of Mathematica will be given as well  as information
of additional resources available in the  form of specialized books,
web-pages and various consulting  companies in Europe and beyond.
