Apologies -- I'm unable to reproduce this after a fresh start.
[But, it sure as hell *was* happening earlier -- that is, "Copy as Plain
Text" applied to a normal error message, then pasting the message into a
BBEdit document was inserting formatted text. I guess either the Front
End or my earlier notebook had somehow gotten slightly hosed.]
