Linux version 6 input is slow

An earlier post mentioned that text input into the notebook is slow in
version 6. This occurs after the notebook grows to a lengthy size,
100+ lines. I too am experiencing this malady, and have not yet found
a solution. Have I missed a posted solution? Is it a QT problem?
