The problem also exists with
model = LinearModeFit[data,x,x]
"The kernel Local has quit (exited) during the course of an
evaluation."
Where data is a small real valued vector.
So far the response from the technical support team at Wolfram has
been unimpressive. There was a suggestion that there may be
compatability issues with I7 and a request to clear cache and then try
re-installing. Neither of these worked and the files that were
corrupted in the installation package remain corrupted. A list of
these are:
TrimPoints.nb
ListDensityPlot.nb
ListLineINtegralConvolutionPlot.nb
Plot.nb
ParametricPlot.nb
ParametricPlot3D.nb
Play.nb as well as the two Intel Dlls noted above.
Once again insight into how to troubleshoot would be appreciated.
